New, Expanding Tenants Lead to Banner Leasing Year
Oakland, CA, December 30, 2015 -- Class A commercial office building 1000 Broadway in downtown Oakland is feeling the positive effects of the continuing Bay Area market upturn. In 2015, the building management signed new lease agreements with two new tenants and substantially expanded lease agreements for several existing ones.
The new tenants are The American University of Armenia, which has leased Suite 280 with 1,014 sq. ft. and ACE Attorney Services which has signed for Suite 340 with 1,452 sq. ft. Additionally, the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) expanded its existing space in the building with three new leases: Suite 150 with 25,333 sq. ft.; Suite 440 with 9,963 sq. ft.; and Suite 600 with 21,771 sq. ft. With these leases, OUSD now has 109,863 sq. ft. in the 1000 Broadway building.
In lease renewals, Colonial Donuts renewed its ground floor, retail lease of 468 sq. ft. for 3 years. Quantum Market Research renewed its 4,406 sq. ft. lease for 7 years.Cal State East Bay renewed for 5 years and expanded by 4,367 sq. ft. for a total lease of 15,681 sq. ft. Toyota Tsusho America also renewed its 3,011 sq. ft. lease for 5 years.
Cushman Wakefield Senior VP John Dolby and Cushman Wakefield Associate VP Dane Hooks acted on behalf of 1000 Broadway in all the new and renewing leases. According to Dolby, 1000 Broadway is getting more deserved attention as the market in Oakland has seen its most recent resurgence. “This building is a real value with its Class A amenities, access to BART, bike and vehicle parking as well as its downtown location.
